In this article, we will talk about 5 classic snacks that bring back the sweetest memories of being a kid.
1. Warheads
If you ever tried this sour candy as a kid in the group of your friends and handled the taste for more than 20 seconds, you probably felt on top of the world. Managing to eat one full ball of this candy felt like winning the jackpot, kind of how grown-ups feel when they test their luck on Melbet apk and other popular betting sites. Now, this snack is considered one of the most nostalgic candies.
The name Warheads came from the idea that the candy was supposed to explode in your mouth like a warhead. They were created in Taiwan in 1978. Later, in 1993, they became very popular in the United States. It used to be one of the most common challenges among kids to dare each other to taste this candy to see who could handle the sourness better. It was previously imported to the US by The Foreign Candy Company, but currently Impact Confections has taken this job.
2. Squeeze-It
Even though Squeeze-Its were first introduced at the end of the 80s, they became popular in the 90s. They were tiny plastic bottles from which you had to squeeze out the juice. The kids enjoyed these sweet, funky snacks a lot at the time. In case you didn’t want to squeeze the bottle, you could easily slurp it out as well.
The stores used to be full of Squeeze-Its, and they came in a lot of fruit flavors, so there were plenty to choose from. The commercials had a catchphrase saying, “Squeeze the fun out of it.” Unfortunately, Squeeze-It’s fame didn’t last long, and the company stopped producing the candy. However, if you want to try something that tastes the same now, there are plenty of similar options on the market today, such as Nik L Lip, which pretty much resembles Squeeze-It.
3. Kudos

In the 90s, if you wanted to have a healthier candy, Kudos granola bars would be a lifesaver. They were insanely famous at the time, and parents often gave them to their kids as a more nutritious option for a sweet snack. Of course, no one knew back then that “healthier” didn’t always mean low in sugar.
This candy was first created in 1986 and quickly became a part of school lunchboxes across the U.S. Sadly, it is no longer available to buy today.
Kudos was a combination of peanut butter, chocolate chips, and nutty fudge. The manufacturing company stopped its production in 2017. The real reason is unknown, although a lot of people speculate that the bars were not as healthy as their packaging claimed to be. Nevertheless, it stayed in our hearts as a joyful part of our childhood.
4. Runts Candy
Runts Candy was created in 1982 by Nestlé. This sweet treat was an amazing choice for kids who were fond of snacks with funky fruit flavors.
The first edition of Runts candy had the taste of banana, cherry, orange, lime, and strawberry. Later, we could also come across the flavors of grape, pineapple, mango, and many more.
Since 2023, Runts has been taken over by Ferrara Candy Company, which still continues to produce this throwback candy.
5. Ring Pop
Who would want a real ring when you could have a ring and candy at the same time?! Ring Pops were and still are a great jewelry snack. Probably a lot of people can remember the times when they proposed with these and made promises.
The first time this candy was introduced was in 1977 by Bazooka Candy Brands. Lucky for those who want to remember these fun memories or maybe create new ones, Ring Pops are still widely available in various flavors.
Bottom Line
Snacks from our childhood can have a big impact on our feelings and memories. They can easily make us nostalgic and be a reminder of the sweet moments we used to share in the past. These foods are the items of our flashbacks in the past, in the time when we were little and everything was fun and simple.
