These delicious candies were originally made by a company known as Y&S Candies. They were located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the US. That candy was a known licorice company that opened in 1845. Now, they are owned by The Hershey Company but still produced by Y&S, which is one of the oldest candy companies out there.

Twizzlers are a licorice brand. They of course have the traditional black licorice, as well as strawberry and cherry. However, Twizzlers are known for getting quite creative with a variety of different flavors.

One really popular Twizzlers creation is their Pull N Peel variety that allows you to peel away small strands of tasty Twizzler. They also have bites, which are fun to eat. Twinkies are a Hostess brand snack that has also been around for more than 90 years. They were first produced in 1930 in Illinois. 

This snack cake is really simple. It’s golden sponge cake with a bit of cream on the inside. In recent years, Twinkie has added some other flavors and seasonal choices that give you more of a variety, but the original will always be the golden Twinkie with cream. 

While they are owned by Hostess, Twinkies actually used to be owned by a private equity company. In 2011, the Twinkie name went through bankruptcy and for a couple of years you couldn’t find them on the shelves. They made their comeback in 2015. 

The very first Twinkie was invented by a man named James Alexander Dewar. He was a baker in Canada and got his idea from strawberry shortcake that was cream filled by the machines. His first Twinkies actually used banana cream, which was later changed to the white cream we know today.

If you want a candy bar that is perfectly caramel and crunchy, try a Twix! These comes with two small candy bar pieces in a regular package. Of course, they also make them in king size and bite sized varieties. Twix is owned by Mars Incorporated and has been produced since about 1967. They’ve been running strong for more than 50 years. 

Twix are made with a small biscuit layer. That biscuit is topped with caramel and then the whole combination is dipped in chocolate. It’s delicious! You will find them in sleek gold wrappers and red lettering. 

Twix originally were created in the United Kingdom in 1967. They were not introduced to the US until about 1979. While the original Twix will always be the dominant choice, they do have some other options that are quite good. You can find a Cookies & Crème flavor, salted caramel, Twix ice cream candy bars, and even a 100-calorie selection.

When you need minty freshness, Tic Tac is your solution. These small mints are perfect to carry in a pocket or a purse and they are easy to just pop one or two in your mouth when you need them. Did we mention they also taste great? That’s certainly a factor to keep in mind. 

Tic Tacs are made by the Ferrero Company. They were first produced in 1969 so you’ve got another company with 50+ years of production in the industry. Traditionally, these come in a small plastic case that has a lid that can snap open or shut. The lid is just the right size to get a single Tic Tac out for your enjoyment.
